The Xhosa Gospel Mission AIDS home, the House of Mercy in Scenery Park, South Africa, is built as an attachment to the Scenery Park Baptist church. For patients, the AIDS home is a last chance to be restored to healthier life and hope, and for many, it's a provision of a decent, loving environment for their passing. At any given time, there are usually six patients receiving care. A trained nurse manages the facility and she has a good team of helpers. Some patients are released and return to private homes after having been restored to health after a long rehabilitation time.
